Why is Nashville called Music City?

Nashville earned the nickname "Music City" thanks to its deep roots in country music and its status as a hub for recording artists. The Grand Ole Opry, which began as a radio broadcast in 1925, helped put Nashville on the musical map. Over time, the city became home to top music studios and labels, not just for country but also for rock, gospel, and blues. Today, Nashville’s live music scene is vibrant, with performances happening daily across venues big and small. From Broadway honky-tonks to the Bluebird Café, music truly fills the air.
