Is Baltimore a walkable city?

Certain parts of Baltimore, especially downtown, Mount Vernon, and Fells Point, are very walkable. These areas are compact, well-connected, and filled with restaurants, galleries, and landmarks. However, the city overall is somewhat spread out, so exploring beyond central neighborhoods may require a car or public transit. Walkability depends largely on where you are in the city.
