The Black Stone, or Hajar al-Aswad, is set into the eastern corner of the Kaaba. Muslims believe it was sent down from heaven and originally appeared white but turned black from absorbing the sins of humanity. During Tawaf, pilgrims try to kiss or touch the stone, following the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad. If touching it is not possible, they simply gesture towards it while passing. The stone symbolizes a direct connection to Islamic heritage. It remains one of the most revered elements of the pilgrimage. Despite its small size, it holds deep spiritual meaning.
