Taipei 101 held the title of the world’s tallest building from 2004 to 2010 at 508 meters tall.
It features a 660-ton tuned mass damper that stabilizes the building during typhoons and earthquakes.
The design is inspired by a bamboo stalk, symbolizing growth, strength, and resilience.
The high-speed elevators travel at 60.6 km/h, making them some of the fastest in the world.
It has 101 above-ground floors, five basement levels, and an indoor/outdoor observation deck for panoramic city views.
Taipei 101 is an environmentally friendly building, receiving LEED Platinum certification for sustainability.
