The Woolworth Building stands at 792 feet (241 meters) tall and has 57 stories. When it opened in 1913, it was the tallest building in the world, surpassing Philadelphia’s City Hall. Its height made it a marvel of engineering and construction for its time. The building's spire and detailed façade contribute to its impressive silhouette. It remained the tallest building until 1930, when the Chrysler Building was completed. The Woolworth Building is still considered one of New York City's architectural masterpieces.
