What is the population of Chechnya?

Chechnya has a population of approximately 1.5 million people. The majority are ethnic Chechens, with smaller communities of Russians and other groups. The population is predominantly Muslim, and traditional customs play a significant role in daily life. Urban centers like Grozny are more densely populated than rural areas. The population has been gradually growing after the conflicts of the 1990s and early 2000s.
