When was Citi Field opened?

Citi Field officially opened on April 13, 2009. The opening marked the end of Shea Stadium, which had been home to the Mets since 1964. The stadium was designed to combine modern facilities with classic ballpark aesthetics. Its construction incorporated fan-friendly features and improved sightlines. Since opening, Citi Field has hosted thousands of games, concerts, and events.
