Some of the main cities in Galilee include Nazareth, Tiberias, Safed (Tzfat), and Acre (Akko). Nazareth is known as the childhood home of Jesus and is an important Christian pilgrimage site. Tiberias is located on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee and is a hub for tourism and religious history. Safed is famous for its role in Jewish mysticism and Kabbalah. Acre, a coastal city, preserves Crusader and Ottoman heritage and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
