When was Ben Gurion Airport established?

The airport was originally opened in 1936 during the British Mandate of Palestine under the name Wilhelma Airport. After the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, it was renamed in honor of David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s first prime minister. Since then, it has grown significantly, with major terminal expansions and infrastructure upgrades over the decades. The current main international facility, Terminal 3, was inaugurated in 2004. Today, it stands as one of the most advanced airports in the Middle East.
