When was David Geffen Hall originally opened?

The hall first opened in 1962 under the name Philharmonic Hall. It was the first major building to be completed at Lincoln Center. Over the decades, it underwent several renovations to improve its acoustics and facilities. In 1973, it was renamed Avery Fisher Hall after the philanthropist Avery Fisher. In 2015, following a major donation, the hall was renamed David Geffen Hall.
