When was The Gherkin completed?

Construction of The Gherkin began in 2001 and was completed in 2003. The building was officially opened in April 2004. Designed by Norman Foster and the architectural firm Foster + Partners, it quickly gained international attention for its innovative design. The Gherkin replaced the outdated Baltic Exchange building, which had been damaged in a bomb attack in 1992. Since its completion, it has been a celebrated example of contemporary architecture.
