When was The Shard completed and opened?

Construction of The Shard began in 2009 and was completed in 2012. It officially opened to the public in July 2012 with a dazzling light show that illuminated the night sky. The building was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Qatar and the Duke of York, reflecting its international investment background. By early 2013, its observation deck, “The View from The Shard,” opened to visitors. Since then, it has become one of London’s top tourist attractions.
