Do people in Vietnam speak English?

English is common in tourist areas, especially among younger people, hotel staff, and guides. In smaller towns or rural areas, English may be limited, but people are usually friendly and try to communicate. Learning a few basic Vietnamese words like “xin chao” (hello) and “cam on” (thank you) goes a long way. Even if you don’t speak the language, most travelers get by just fine.
