Is Hong Kong a country?

Nope, Hong Kong isn’t an independent country. It’s a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China, which means it has its own legal system, currency, and some political freedoms under the “one country, two systems” policy. It was a British colony until 1997, which is why you’ll still see a lot of English influence. People sometimes get confused, but it’s not its own nation. Still, it feels very different from mainland China in many ways.
