When was the Guggenheim founded?

The Guggenheim Museum opened in 1939, thanks to philanthropist Solomon R. Guggenheim and artist Hilla Rebay. It was originally called the Museum of Non-Objective Painting before evolving into the Guggenheim we know today. Over the years, it’s grown into one of the world’s most famous modern art museums. The building itself became a landmark in 1959 when it officially opened to the public.
