Ohio State vaulted to the top of the AP Top 25 college football poll after a tightly contested 14–7 victory over preseason No. 1 Texas. The Buckeyes earned 55 first-place votes, pushing Penn State to No. 2 and LSU to No. 3 following LSU’s upset win over Clemson. Georgia and Miami rounded out the top five, with Miami's last-minute win over Notre Dame securing their spot. Texas tumbled to No. 7, and Alabama dropped to No. 21 after a stunning loss to Florida State. Newcomers Utah and South Carolina also made waves—Utah cracked the rankings at No. 25, while South Carolina entered the top 10 for the first time since 2014.
