It's America's first zoo, opening in 1874 with 1,000 animals and an admission price of 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for children.
The zoo is home to over 1,900 rare and endangered animals from around the world.
It features the Zoo360 trail system, allowing animals like big cats and primates to roam above and across visitor pathways.
In 2025, the zoo celebrated the birth of four Galápagos tortoise hatchlings, the first in its 150-year history.
During the holiday season, the zoo hosts LumiNature, a spectacular winter light show with over a million twinkling lights across 16 illuminated zones.
