Brussels is bilingual with French and Dutch as official languages, but English is widely spoken too. Street signs are in both French and Dutch, so it helps to know basic greetings. Most restaurants, hotels, and attractions have English menus or staff who speak English. It’s a cosmopolitan city, so you’ll find many other languages too, thanks to the expat and EU community. Knowing a few French phrases can still win you smiles.
