Crete is a year-round destination, but the sweet spots are spring (April–June) and fall (September–October). The weather’s perfect—warm but not scorching—and the island’s not packed with tourists. Summer's great for beach lovers, but it can get pretty hot, especially inland. If you're into hiking or exploring ruins, spring and fall are ideal. Plus, that’s when local festivals like the Rethymnon Renaissance Festival light up the island. Just keep in mind that some mountain villages can get chilly in winter, but hey, snow-capped peaks and cozy tavernas make it worth it.
