What currency is used in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

The official currency is the Bosnian Convertible Mark (BAM). It's not part of the EU, so the Euro isn't widely accepted. Credit cards are becoming more common in bigger cities, but many places still prefer cash. ATMs are available, but it's a good idea to have some local currency on hand, especially when traveling to smaller towns or rural areas.
