These are two extremes that make Finland fascinating. In summer, especially in Lapland, the sun barely sets for weeks — it’s bright even at midnight, and people just roll with it. Locals camp, fish, and hang out outdoors at all hours like it’s a never-ending day. Then winter flips it — the polar night brings long stretches of darkness, and the sky glows blue instead of black. People say it messes with your sleep but also brings peace. Artists and photographers love it for the surreal colors. It’s basically living on the edge of the planet’s light switch.
