Is Mali a safe place to visit?

Mali is currently not considered safe for tourism due to ongoing security concerns. Armed groups are active in parts of the country, especially in the north and center. Kidnappings and terrorist incidents have been reported in some regions. The capital, Bamako, is relatively calmer but still requires caution. Traveling outside major cities is not recommended without security arrangements. Locals are kind and welcoming, but conditions can change quickly. Overall, Mali should be avoided by tourists until the situation improves.
