Is Niger a safe place to visit?

Niger is currently not considered a safe destination for tourists. Several regions face security concerns due to armed groups and political instability. Kidnappings and terrorist activity have occurred in some areas. The capital, Niamey, is calmer but still requires vigilance. Traveling outside major cities is not advised without local guidance. Locals are hospitable, but conditions remain unpredictable. Overall, Niger should be avoided for now until the security situation improves.
