Aretha loved cooking and often prepared food for friends and visiting musicians. She liked playing piano casually at home, not just onstage. She was also a huge fan of cars, especially Cadillacs, and she owned several throughout her life. Aretha enjoyed playing cards and watching sports, especially basketball. She loved dressing up, from glamorous gowns to sharp everyday outfits. People who knew her said she had a great sense of humour. When she relaxed, she lived a pretty normal life despite being a superstar.
