Who founded Warner Bros and when did it start?

Warner Bros was started by four brothers—Harry, Albert, Sam and Jack Warner—who were first-generation immigrants with a knack for show business. They officially formed the studio in the early 1920s after working in film distribution and exhibition, and quickly moved into production. The brothers were risk-takers who embraced new tech early, notably getting behind synchronized sound in movies. Their gamble with sound helped them score one of the most famous early hits in cinema history. Over the decades the family business grew from a small studio to a massive entertainment company. The founders set a tone of bold moves and hands-on leadership that shaped the studio’s identity. Even now people talk about the Warner brothers when they talk about Hollywood’s early, wild days.
