Paris Orly Airport (ORY) is a major international airport located about 14 km (around 9 miles) south of central Paris, making it much closer to the city than some other airports. It mainly serves short- and medium-haul flights within Europe and beyond, and it’s often used by both low-cost and traditional carriers. Because it’s south of Paris, travel times to the city can vary depending on traffic or transport choices. The airport has two main terminal areas — Orly West and Orly South — and a free shuttle links them so you can make connections easily. Many travelers use the newly extended Metro Line 14 directly to the airport, which reaches central Paris in about 25 minutes. You can also use RER trains with the Orlyval shuttle or buses, trams, and taxis to get in and out of the city. Planning a bit of extra time for transport helps if you’re heading downtown around rush hour.
