What are the parking and transportation options for Nationals Park?

Parking near Nationals Park can be tricky because lots fill up fast on game days, so buying a parking pass ahead of time is usually a good idea. There are official garages and lots right around the ballpark, like GEICO Garage and Garage C, but prices vary and they can sell out quickly. Most official parking is cashless and opens about two hours before first pitch, and tailgating isn’t allowed. Traffic around South Capitol Street on game nights can be heavy, so many fans prefer public transit instead. The Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro station on the Green Line is just a short walk from the center field gate, and other Metro lines and buses are nearby too. Some fans park at a Metro station farther out to save money and take the train in, which can be way easier than dealing with stadium traffic. Walking, rideshare, or biking with the free bike valet are all solid ways to get to the ballpark without driving.
