Parking at the Smoothie King Center can be one of the trickiest parts of your visit, especially on big event nights. The arena shares multiple garages and surface lots with the Superdome complex, and together they offer around 7,000 spots right around the venue. These official garages (like #1, #1A, #2, #2A, #5, #6 and Champions) fill up fast and usually cost more close to event start time. All official parking is cashless now, so be ready with a debit or credit card. A lot of locals recommend pre‑booking a spot via an app or even parking a few blocks away and walking in to save money and avoid the worst traffic. There are also nearby lots and garage options off Poydras or Loyola that are a short walk and often cheaper. Give yourself extra time on event nights because traffic and exiting garages afterward can be slow.
