Joshua Tree National Park has visitor centers like the Joshua Tree Visitor Center near the town of Joshua Tree where you can pick up maps, buy passes, and learn about the park from rangers before you head in. The visitor centers also have exhibits with info on the desert’s plants, animals, and cultural history, along with a park store for souvenirs or guidebooks. During the busy season (typically fall through spring) picking up your park pass at these centers can help you skip lines at the ranger station booths. They’re open daily and usually have restrooms, parking, and ADA-accessible facilities. Staff can answer your questions about trails, safety, and closures so you’re more prepared for your visit. Visitor centers also often have info on seasonal programs and talks hosted by park rangers. Having one of these stops on your route is a great way to start your Joshua Tree adventure.
