Bedfordshire is a historic county in the East of England that sits between London and the Midlands, known for its mix of countryside, market towns, and urban centres. It includes the towns of Bedford, Luton, Dunstable, and smaller places like Leighton Buzzard and Woburn, each with its own vibe and local history. The county is relatively small geographically but packs in a lot of diversity from peaceful rural spots to busy town centres with transport links. It’s only about 45 minutes from central London by train, which makes it handy for commuting or weekend trips to the capital. Bedfordshire also has lots of rivers and green spaces that make it feel very different from big city life despite the easy access to cities.
