Right now Spartan Stadium has a seating capacity of about 74,866 fans, making it one of the larger college stadiums in the Big Ten Conference. That size has changed a lot over time as the venue has been expanded and upgraded many times since the 1920s. There was a time when temporary seating and huge crowds pushed attendance even above 80,000 for certain big games. With the recent pandemic years behind us and technology upgrades in place, capacity sits just under 75,000 again. When the stands are full on a fall Saturday, the noise and energy feel massive for players and fans alike. Because of that big seating bowl, you get a real sense of community when everyone’s cheering the Spartans together. If you’re planning a trip to a game, expect a packed, raucous crowd on most weekends.
