Most experts who track visitor patterns suggest budgeting at least two to three hours for a good Tower of London experience, but you could easily spend a half day if you want to take your time. If you’re really into history or plan to join multiple Beefeater tours, browse detailed exhibitions, or explore every corner, four hours isn’t unusual. Crowds and queues also affect how long you’ll stay — mornings usually feel smoother than midday when lots of tour groups arrive. Seeing the Crown Jewels often takes longer because it’s one of the busiest areas, so it’s smart to visit that early in your visit. Wall walks and special exhibits add to the time too, but they’re totally worth it if you love history. Some people start early, take a lunch break inside the Tower, and still linger near the Thames before heading on. You can leave and come back only if your ticket says so, so check the fine print before you go out.
