What is Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego known for?

Snapdragon Stadium is a modern sports and entertainment venue in San Diego that opened in August 2022 and quickly became a key stop for big events in Southern California. It’s home to the San Diego State Aztecs college football team, San Diego FC of MLS, and the San Diego Wave FC women’s soccer team, which makes it busy almost year‑round. The stadium can hold about 35,000 fans and was designed to host everything from football and soccer to rugby games, concerts, festivals, and community shows. Part of the bigger SDSU Mission Valley redevelopment project, the venue is also easy to reach by public transit and close to lots of hotels and restaurants. Since opening, it’s broken attendance records and become a must‑visit place for sports fans visiting San Diego. It’s also set to host preliminary matches for the soccer tournaments at the 2028 Summer Olympics under a temporary name change to “San Diego Stadium.” The wide range of events and the state‑of‑the‑art facilities really set Snapdragon apart from older stadiums in the region.
