Why did Red Bull Arena change its name to Sports Illustrated Stadium?

The stadium was renamed as part of a long-term naming rights deal between the New York Red Bulls and Sports Illustrated Tickets. This agreement was announced in December 2024 and runs for 13 years. The rebrand reflects a partnership focused on improving fan experiences and modern ticketing technology. It’s actually the first time the Sports Illustrated brand has ever been used for a stadium name. Before this, the venue had been known as Red Bull Arena since it opened. The change officially took effect starting in 2025, though many fans still use the old name. These kinds of naming deals are common in sports and help teams generate major revenue.
