Mismi is a high mountain in the Andes of southern Peru and is known for its extreme altitude and remote location. It sits in the Arequipa region and is part of a rugged volcanic mountain range. The peak is often associated with scientific interest because it plays a role in South American river systems. It rises to about 5,600 meters above sea level, which makes it one of the taller mountains in the region. The landscape around it is dry, rocky, and shaped by glaciers and erosion. Very few people live near it because of the harsh conditions. Today, it is best known among hikers, geographers, and researchers.
