How many days should you spend in Ha Long Bay?

Most travelers spend one or two nights in Ha Long Bay to get the full experience. A day trip lets you see the famous limestone islands, but it can feel a little rushed. An overnight cruise gives you more time to explore caves, beaches, and floating villages. Many cruises also include kayaking, swimming, cooking classes, and sunset activities. Spending two nights allows for a more relaxed schedule and access to quieter parts of the bay. If you're traveling around northern Vietnam, adding at least one overnight stay is usually worth it. The extra time lets you enjoy the peaceful atmosphere after many day visitors leave.
