Lake St. Clair sits right between the U.S. and Canada, connecting Lake Huron and Lake Erie through the Great Lakes system. It’s basically sandwiched between southeastern Michigan and southern Ontario. Even though it’s called a “lake,” it actually feels more like a wide, shallow waterway in many areas. The Detroit River flows into it from the north, and it drains into the St. Clair River. A lot of people don’t realise how important it is for shipping and recreation at the same time. Cities like Detroit and Windsor are close by, so it’s pretty accessible for millions of people. Because of its location, it’s a popular spot for both boating and cross-border tourism.
