Lincoln County is situated in Charlotte suburban area of North Carolina. The county is named after Benjamin Lincoln (1733-1810), a major general during the American Revolutionary War. The area of Lincoln County is about 307 square miles. The county was founded in 1779 from Tryon County, and it is populated today by 90 thousand residents.
