US presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign has accused the British Labour Party of meddling in the election campaign.
In a complaint filed with the US Federal Election Commission, the campaign alleges that members of the British party are helping to run the campaign of Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate.
The campaign's statement, titled "The Brits Are Coming!", reads in part:
The far-left Labour Party has inspired Kamala's [Harris] dangerous liberal policies and rhetoric. In recent weeks, they have recruited and sent party members to campaign for Kamala in critical states in an attempt to influence our election.
As BBC News clarifies, Trump's allies believe that the Labor Party is paying its volunteers to work in the US elections, which is prohibited by American laws. British Prime Minister, Labor Party member Keir Starmer, rejected accusations of interference in the US elections, saying that the Labor Party is participating in Harris's campaign on a voluntary basis.
