Israel has postponed a retaliatory strike on Iran after the US leaked classified military documents on a potential attack, the British newspaper The Times reported on October 24, citing sources.
"The leak of US documents has postponed the attack because of the need to change some strategies and components. There will be retaliation, but it will take longer than expected," an intelligence source familiar with the Israeli negotiations told.
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation has launched an investigation after the Pentagon leaked highly classified intelligence on Israel's plans to strike Iran, US media reported on October 19. The documents, dated October 15 and 16, appeared on a pro-Iranian Telegram channel.
The Times writes that the leaked documents showed the US assessing a likely Israeli strike based on satellite images and other intelligence. The leak did not mention potential Iranian targets that Israel could strike.
