Oklahoma City was founded on April 22, 1889, during the famous Oklahoma Land Run. Thousands of settlers raced to claim plots of land in what was previously considered “Unassigned Lands.” The city grew rapidly from a tent settlement to a modern urban center. Its history is deeply tied to themes of migration, opportunity, and frontier life.
