Where exactly is Las Vegas located?

Las Vegas is located in southern Nevada, in the heart of the Mojave Desert. It’s about a four-hour drive northeast of Los Angeles and close to the borders of Arizona and California. Despite being surrounded by arid desert, it’s a major tourist destination known worldwide. McCarran International Airport (recently renamed Harry Reid International) makes it easily accessible by air.
