What is Mount Etna?

Mount Etna is an active stratovolcano located on the east coast of Sicily, Italy, near the cities of Catania and Messina. It is the highest volcano in Europe, standing at around 3,324 meters (10,905 feet), though its height varies with eruptions. Etna is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and has been erupting for hundreds of thousands of years. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its geological significance and cultural history.
