JFK Airport has six active passenger terminals, numbered 1 through 8, though Terminal 6 is no longer in use. Each terminal serves different airlines and destinations, both domestic and international. Terminal 1 is primarily used by international carriers, while Terminal 4 handles some of the largest international flights. Terminal 5 is operated by JetBlue, and Terminal 7 is used by British Airways and other international airlines. Terminal 8 serves American Airlines, making it a major hub for U.S. carriers.
