What is the Bermuda Triangle?

The Bermuda Triangle is a loosely defined region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft and ships are said to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. The area is roughly bounded by Miami, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico. Over the decades, stories of unexplained vanishings have captured the public’s imagination. While some attribute these disappearances to paranormal or extraterrestrial activity, most experts cite natural causes. The Bermuda Triangle is also known as the "Devil’s Triangle" due to its notorious reputation. Despite the myths, the area is heavily traveled by ships and planes every year.
