Fiji has a population of approximately 900,000 people. The majority of the population lives on the two largest islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. The population is ethnically diverse, consisting mainly of indigenous Fijians and Indo-Fijians, along with smaller communities of Europeans, Chinese, and Pacific Islanders. Most residents live in urban areas, with Suva being the largest city. The islands maintain a balance of traditional village life and modern city development. Tourism and agriculture contribute significantly to the local economy and population distribution.
