Bran Castle is situated in the Carpathian Mountains, near the town of Bran and about 25 kilometers from Brașov, Romania. The castle sits on a rocky hilltop, offering dramatic views of the surrounding forests and mountains. Its location made it an important defensive fortress in medieval times. The castle also marks a historical border area between Transylvania and Wallachia.
