As of recent estimates, Jamaica has a population of around 2.8 million people. The population is diverse, with African heritage being the most prominent due to the island’s history of slavery. There are also communities of Indian, Chinese, European, and Middle Eastern descent. Most Jamaicans live in urban areas such as Kingston, Montego Bay, and Spanish Town. Despite its small size, Jamaica has a large cultural influence worldwide.
