What language do people speak in Armenia?

The official language is Armenian, which has its own unique alphabet. Most people speak it, but many also know Russian and, especially younger folks, some English. Even if you don’t speak Armenian, locals are usually friendly and helpful. Learning a few basic words like “barev” (hello) will definitely earn you some smiles. The language and alphabet are a big part of the national identity.
