What language do people speak in Tahiti?

The main languages are French and Tahitian. Most locals speak French since Tahiti is part of French Polynesia, but Tahitian is still widely spoken, especially in cultural settings. In tourist areas, you’ll also find plenty of English speakers, so getting around isn’t too tough. Learning a few Tahitian words like “Ia orana” (hello) and “Māuruuru” (thank you) will earn you big smiles. The mix of languages adds to the island’s unique vibe.
